Music Video Contest

Contests can be quite a push to someone with a creative mind, who loves a challenge. I always am up for a good challenge, I tend to dive right in when it comes to certain things. In other ways I hold myself back and people always tell me that if I react in that sort of manner that it isn’t like me at all. So is this a side of me that can bust through in moments and hides in others? Well you can decide for yourself when you watch a video I entered in a Moby Music Video Contest. I wanted the illusion of a character being chased by someone or something, only to find out she was being chased by herself, which portrays fear and a bit of curiosity from the young woman. Which in ways can describe myself at times. Sometimes I get caught up in a moment, and then wake up and realize it was only a dream…… or was it?

The Legend of the Lowlanders

Believe it or not I came on this film project the second time around. When casting a student film and not having a budge to work with can be hectic and complicated at times. Money is always an issue and can also help you in this industry if you have it. But when you are a starving college student pretty much working with other starving college students, that really isn’t an option.

I became the Line Producer for this film in which we shot scenes to put together a trailer. Of course the script is a feature length and the director wants it to become a trilogy, but that takes a lot of time, effort and money. A lot in which we don’t all have these days.

We were fortunate to be able to use the RED camera which is very expensive. I had difficulties with the RED Alert editing program slowing down my computer and just freezing up, it took a lot of space and the footage pretty much filled my external hard drive which could be a problem when you use it as much as I do.

Seattle International Film Festival 2011 = Success

For those of you that made it out to SIFF 2011 this year, it was a huge success. People of all stature come from around the world to see the films presented in those few weeks, even the filmmakers, directors & so on come to do Q&A’s after some of the films. We had big stars come such as Ewan McGregor to promote his film Beginners which turned out to be a success by what I heard. I was unable to make that film but out of the films I did see my 2 top favorite films of the festival were White Irish Drinkers & Funkytown. Both of these films had good story lines, entertaining actors and the endings were not necessarily predictable and kept the audiences attention. Success for these two films, if all pans out I could see these films making it to the big screen. We all know that each year there are those films that do make it further than a festival and give the crew of a film a big break in the movie industry. Be sure to check out my short documentary/local tour of SIFF 2011.
